IP Services PICs
Service providers desire to incrementally add network based IP services to generate new revenues without the associated cost of deploying customer premise equipment. The IP Services PICs from Juniper Networks deliver hardware-based packet processing to enable these network based services with uncompromising performance. These services include stateful firewall, NAT, flow based accounting, IPSec encryption, multilink, tunnel services, and other value-added packet processing functions. Based on the highly dependable Juniper Networks hardware and software routing architecture, the IP Services PICs plug directly into M- and T-series routers and can be combined to enable multiple high-performance services on the same platform. The modular approach of the IP Services PICs allows providers to add the appropriate services on an as-needed basis, gracefully scaling the network as the demand for enhanced services occurs.
- Adaptive Services (AS) PIC supports a new level of services integration and performance. The AS PIC supports compressed real time protocol (CRTP), Network Address Translation (NAT), stateful firewall, tunnel services, IPSec encryption and J-Flow accounting today while having built-in headroom to support additional services in the future.
- Encryption Services (ES) PIC provides high-performance IPsec encryption at speeds exceeding 800 Mbps.
- Link Services PIC delivers simultaneous support for link fragmentation and interleaving (LFI), multilink bundling (MLFR 1.5, MLFR .16, MLPPP), and tunneling.
- Monitoring Services PIC delivers highly scalable J-Flow-based monitoring. The M-series PIC family offers two models to monitor up to 400 Kpps and 2 million flows, exporting standard v5 and v8 cflowd records.
- Monitoring Services III PIC delivers high performance monitoring with Dynamic Flow Capture. This PIC is supported on the M320, T320 and T640 routers.
- Multiservices PIC significantly expands the services flexibility of the Juniper Networks M- and T-series routers by enabling a broad range of services and applications in a single PIC form factor that can also serve an integral part of a security solution.
- Tunnel Services PIC enables M-series and T-series routers to transport multiple types of traffic over existing IP infrastructures using different encapsulation mechanisms. The Tunnel Services PIC supports IP-IP unicast, generic routing encapsulation (GRE), and Protocol Independent Multicast-Sparse Mode (PIM-SM) tunnels.
