Syntax

deactivate (statement | identifier)

Description

Add the inactive: tag to a statement, effectively commenting out the statement or identifier from the configuration. Statements or identifiers marked as inactive do not take effect when you issue the commit command.

Options

identifier

Identifier to which you are adding the inactive: tag. It must be an identifier at the current hierarchy level.

statement

Statement to which you are adding the inactive: tag. It must be a statement at the current hierarchy level.

Required Privilege Level

configure—To enter configuration mode, but other required privilege levels depend on where the statement is located in the configuration hierarchy.

Release Information

Command introduced before Junos OS Release 7.4.
