TELUS, recognized as having the fastest 5G network in Canada, is creating an agile, software-driven network to deliver a new generation of services to consumers, businesses, healthcare providers, and the agricultural community.

“The network must be able to self-tune. We need to build self-driving networks,” says Ali Tizghadam, principal technology architect and network softwarization lead at TELUS. “This requires new foundations to be built and some traditional approaches to network must evolve to make the shift possible.”

TELUS worked closely with Juniper Professional Services to automate the test, validation, and certification of 5G and other services. Automating testing reduces service activation testing from weeks to days, lowering the cost of service delivery and leading to greater customer satisfaction and retention.

TELUS’ 5G network now reaches 70% of the Canadian population, with an accelerated service rollout that connects communities from coast to coast.
