Description

Write system log messages to the log file in structured-data format, which complies with Internet draft draft-ietf-syslog-protocol-23, The syslog Protocol (http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-syslog-protocol-23).

Starting in Junos OS 19.2R1 release and later, after configuring this statement, you cannot configure any other statements that specify the format for messages written to the file. Commit error appears (the explicit-priority statement at the [edit system syslog file filename] hierarchy level and the time-format statement at the [edit system syslog] hierarchy level) if you try to configure any other statement after configuring this statement. In releases prior to Junos OS 19.2R1 release, there is no commit error when you run the request system software validate command before an upgrade to validate the software package as a pre-requisiste.
