Release Information
Statement introduced in Junos OS Release 13.1R1.
Description
Specify the length of time, in seconds, that the DHCPv6 server keeps the IPv6 prefix active. The DHCPv6 server sends this value to the client (router).
If a value for the preferred-lifetime statement is configured along with a value for the maximum-lease-time statement, or if the configured value of the preferred-lifetime statement is higher than the value of the valid-lifetime statement, a commit error occurs. If a value for the preferred-lifetime statement is not configured, Junos OS uses the same value as the maximum-lease-time or valid-lifetime statement. If neither the maximum-lease-time nor valid-lifetime statement is configured, Junos OS uses the default value of 86,400 seconds.
