Supported Platforms
request chassis clock master switch
Syntax
Release Information
Command introduced in Junos OS Release 12.1.
Description
(PTX Series Packet Transport Routers only) Control which Centralized Clock Generator (CCG) is the master.
Options
This command has no options.
Additional Information
By default, the CCG in slot 0 (CCG0) is the master and the CCG in slot 1 (CCG1) is the backup. If you use this command to change the master, and then restart the chassis software for any reason, the master reverts to the default setting. To change the default master CCG, include the ccg statement at the [edit chassis redundancy] hierarchy level in the configuration. For more information, see the Junos OS Administration Library for Routing Devices.
The configurations on the two CCGs do not have to be the same, and they are not automatically synchronized. If you configure both CCGs as masters, when the chassis software restarts for any reason, the CCG in slot 0 becomes the master and the one in slot 1 becomes the backup.
The switchover from the primary CCG to the backup CCG is immediate.
