Release Information

This is a Junos XML management protocol operation. It is a Juniper Networks proprietary extension to NETCONF and is identified in the capabilities exchange by the URI http://xml.juniper.net/netconf/junos/1.0 . This operation is only supported in NETCONF sessions on Juniper Networks devices running the Junos OS.

Description

Request that the NETCONF server open and lock the candidate configuration, enabling the client application both to read and change it, but preventing any other users or applications from changing it. The application must emit the <unlock-configuration/> tag to unlock the configuration.

If the NETCONF session ends or the application emits the <unlock-configuration/> tag before the candidate configuration is committed, all changes made to the candidate are discarded.
