RJ-45 Connector Pinouts for MX Series CB-RE or RCB Auxillary and Console Ports

The ports–labeled—AUX and CONSOLE—on the Control Board and Routing Engine (CB-RE) or the Routing and Control Board (RCB) are asynchronous serial interfaces that accept an RJ-45 connector. The ports connect the Routing Engine to an auxiliary or console management device. Table 1 describes the RJ-45 connector pinout.

Note:

In routers where the Routing Engine and Control Board (CB) are integrated into a single board, a CB-RE is known as Routing and Control Board (RCB). The RCB is a single FRU that provides Routing Engine and CB functionality.
