CSDS Architecture with Dual MX Series Routers (CSDS Traffic Orchestrator) and Scaled-Out SRX Series Firewalls (MNHA)

Learn about CSDS topology with dual MX Series routers and scaled-out SRX Series Firewalls in MNHA mode.

Figure 1 illustrates the CSDS topology with dual MX Series routers and scaled-out SRX Series Firewalls in Multinode High Availability (MNHA) mode. The topology ensures maximum redundancy for both the MX Series routers and the SRX Series Firewalls by making use of all the nodes at the same time. This topology safeguards against all potential failover scenarios.

Each MX Series router in the topology controls traffic for both the routers. You can deploy SRX Series Firewalls either in active-backup role or in active/active role, making use of both the nodes at the same time. This deployment augments the network capacity during normal operation. But with a single MNHA cluster in the topology, a failure results in only one active role at a time. This topology ensures full redundancy and scaling for MX Series routers and the SRX Series Firewalls.
