Syntax

Description

Configure aggregated Ethernet interfaces and aggregated Ethernet logical interfaces to automatically derive Ethernet segment identifiers (ESIs) from the Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) configuration.

We support the lacp-pe-system-id-and-admin-key option in the following environments:

  • On Juniper Networks devices that support the automatic ESI feature and are multihomed in active-active mode in an EVPN-VXLAN overlay network.

  • On Juniper Networks devices that support the automatic ESI feature and are multihomed in active-standby or active-active mode in an EVPN-MPLS overlay network.

We support configuring type-1-lacp and type-3-system-mac options in all-active multihome devices in EVPN-VXLAN and EVPN-MPLS overlay networks.

For more guidelines on configuring automatic ESI and information about how the ESI is derived, see Understanding Automatically Generated ESIs in EVPN Networks.

Options

lacp-pe-system-id-and-admin-key

Specify that the ESI is automatically derived from the system id and admin key in the LACP configuration for the aggregated Ethernet interface on the local device (actor).

Note:

In Junos OS 22.2R1,lacp was rename to lacp-pe-system-id-and-admin-key.

type-1-lacp

Specify that the ESI is automatically derived from the system id and admin key in the LACP configuration for the aggregated Ethernet interface on the remote device (partner).

type-3-system-mac

Specify that the ESI is automatically derived from the configured local-discriminator and mac options.

  • local-discriminator number—Specify a unique number that will be used in conjunction with the mac option to create the ESI.

    Range: 0 through 16777215

  • mac mac-address—Specify a system identfier in the form of a MAC address that will be used in conjunction with the local-discriminator to create the ESI.
