Description

Note:

If IGMP snooping is enabled on routers and switches that are configured with a PTP Transparent Clock, the PTP devices will not perform an IGMP join on 224.0.1.129. You will need to configure a static IGMP configuration in order to forward the PTP traffic.

For example:

set protocols igmp-snooping vlan vlan-name interface interface-name static group 224.0.1.129

Configure the end-to-end (E2E) transparent clock for Precision Time Protocol (PTP). With an end-to-end transparent clock, only the residence time is included in the timestamp in the packet. Transparent clock functionality is supported on PTP over Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, unicast, and multicast. With PTP over Ethernet, one or two VLANs are supported. Transparent clock functionality is enabled globally and might be required in scenarios in which the interface on which packets are received and transmitted is unknown.

Note:

ACX5048 and ACX5096 routers do not support PTP over IPv6 for transparent clocks.
