Hierarchy Level

[edit forwarding-options]

Description

Configure the device to allow LACP, LLDP, OAM LFM, and OAM CFM packets to cross the Layer 2 circuit. If the l2circuit-control-passthrough statement is not configured, LACP, LLDP, OAM LFM, and OAM CFM packets are classified as control packets and are not transmitted across the Layer 2 circuit.

Note:

For MX Series routers, the functionality that the l2circuit-control-passthrough command provides is performed automatically.

Starting in Junos OS Evolved Release 22.4R1, you do not need to configure the l2circuit-control-passthrough statement to allow tunneling of Layer 2 control frames between local and remote provider edge (PE) devices in a Layer 2 VPN on PTX10001-36MR, PTX10004, PTX10008, and PTX10016 routers.

This statement is not applicable for ACX routers running Junos OS Evolved.
