Description
When MC-LAG peers power up or reboot, Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) and Neighbor Discovery (ND) entries are learned and synchronized by the peers. Because the MC-LAG peers synchronize and learn each other’s ARP and ND entries, relearning these entries is not needed on the device. Only the ARP and ND entries that are pointing to either an MC-AE or corresponding ICL are synchronized.
This same behavior is applicable when an IRB comes up and goes down. In this case, only those ARP and ND entries corresponding to an IRB that is part of an MC-LAG (for example, bridge domain, or VLAN) are synchronized by the peers.
