Description
Enable L3 Multicast Statistics to track the total number of packets and bytes that hit a multicast route.
Statistics are attached and collected on a FCFS (first-come, first-served) basis for the first 16K (S,G) routes that require statistics. The routes can be a combination of IPv4 and IPv6 (S,G) routes. Both ASM and SSM routes are supported. Statistics for each multicast (S,G) route is calculated independently.
Multicast statistics can be attached only to (S,G) multicast routes and not (*,G) routes.
When you commit the set system packet-forwarding-options mcast
stats-enable configuration statement, a PFE restart is initiated.
To disable multicast statistics, use the configuration statement delete system
packet-forwarding-options mcast stats-enable.
To view multicast statistics, use the show multicast route extensive
command.
