multipath (SPF Options)

Syntax

Hierarchy Level

Description

Enable weighted equal-cost multipath (WECMP) routing to load-balance traffic in proportion to the changing aggregated ethernet link bandwidth on an equal cost path (ECMP) between directly connected routers. Distributing traffic equally on all equal cost path (ECMP) might lead to imbalanced link utilization if a change occurs in the capacity of any of the local links. In this case, weighted ECMP facilitates load balancing of traffic between equal cost paths only in proportion to the capacity of the local links. After you enable the new configuration statement, whenever an interface change happens, route installation gets scheduled with the updated bandwidth value to distribute traffic accordingly.

Options

weighted

Enable weighted ECMP for efficient load sharing.

one-hop

Enable weighted ECMP load balancing on IS-IS neighbors that are just one hop away based on the interface bandwidth.

Required Privilege Level
