Description

Configure a Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) to remain powered off when an FPC comes online or power off or power on a PFE during runtime. Click here to see the platforms supporting pfe configuration options.

pfe pfe-id

The ID of the Packet Forwarding Engine to be powered off.

Note:

  • Powering off a supported PFE using this configuration command triggers an automatic FPC restart on an MX series router.

  • For the MPC10E-15C-MRATE line card, only the Packet Forwarding Engine 2 is applicable.
power (off | on)

Power off or on the selected Packet Forwarding Engine.

  • Default: on
