tunnel-port

Syntax

Description

Configure the port number for generic routing encapsulation (GRE) tunneling.

Junos OS allows configuring tunnel-services at the PIC level. You can specify bandwidth for the tunnel services, with the default being 400g if not specified. It's recommended to configure the necessary bandwidth to conserve ASIC resources. All variants of the tunnel interfaces (ud, ut, vt, ip, gr, pd, pe and lt) are created.

The configuration creates lt-1/0/0 to lt-1/0/3 for tunnel services, along with other tunnel interface variants (ud, ut, vt, ip, gr, pd, and pe). To further conserve ASIC resources, you can specify a particular tunnel port, which limits the creation of interfaces to those with specific port numbers, like only creating lt-1/0/0, for example, set chassis fpc 1 pic 0 tunnel-services tunnel-port 0 bandwidth bandwidth. This configuration will only create tunnel interfaces that have a port number of value 0. For example lt-1/0/0 and other tunnel interface variants with a port number ending with 0.
