Logical Systems User Guide for Routers and Switches

date_range 27-Mar-24

Use this guide to configure logical systems on devices running Junos OS.

With Junos OS, you can partition a single router into multiple logical devices that perform independent routing tasks, known as logical systems. Logical systems are defined largely by the resources allocated to them, features enabled for the logical context, their routing configurations, and their logical interface assignments. Because logical systems perform a subset of the tasks once handled by the main router, logical systems offer an effective way to maximize the use of a single routing or switching platform.
