Global Options

You are here: Network > NAT > Pools.

To add global options for a NAT pool:

    The Global Options page appears.

  2. Complete the configuration according to the guidelines provided in Table 1.
  3. Click OK to save the changes.
Table 1: Fields on the Global Options Page

Field

Action

Persistent address

Enable this option to ensure that the same IP address is assigned from the source NAT pool to a specific host for multiple concurrent sessions.

Port randomization

Enable port randomization. The device performs NAT translation choosing the IP address by round robin, then chooses the port used for that IP address by randomization.

Interface port overloading

Enable this option to set the port range for NAT interface overload mapping. It also allows you to block a specific port from being used in interface overload mapping.

Overloading factor

Enter a value for the port overloading capacity for the source NAT interface.

For example, if overloading factor is set to 2, and it is multiplied by a maximum port capacity of 63,486, the port overloading threshold is 126,972. If the configured setting exceeds the maximum port capacity of the interface, an error message is generated during the configuration commit.
