Juniper Agile Licensing (JAL) Portal Overview
Learn about Juniper Agile Licensing (JAL) Portal. Understand the license management tasks that you can accomplish in the JAL Portal. Find out how to log in to the JAL Portal.
Juniper Agile Licensing (JAL) Portal enables you to activate and manage your Juniper licenses for Juniper hardware, software, and SaaS/Cloud products and services.
Complete the following license-management tasks in the JAL Portal:
Management Task |
Description |
---|---|
View your Juniper-purchased Entitlements |
Manage Entitlements for your entire network. JAL Portal shows a complete inventory of Entitlements for your user account, even for products that don’t need you to install license keys. Note that JAL Portal doesn't display certain products such as Mist and SSR. |
Activate your licenses |
Activate licenses to generate license keys for your devices and software. Carry out bulk activations. |
Relocate the licenses |
Relocate a license to a replacement serial number by using the self-service RMA process. Move a license to a different serial number if required (subscription licenses only). |
Revoke activations |
Revoke activations when the license is no longer required for the specific product serial number. You can revoke a perpetual license within 30 days after activation. You can revoke a subscription license at any time. |
Upgrade license |
Upgrade your license to obtain a license key for a newer version of product software. At times, newer versions of product software might require an updated license key to be installed or might introduce new licensed features. If a new software version requires you to install a new license key, the product Release Notes for the software version provides this information. Ensure to review the Release Notes for your Juniper product and software versions. |

How do I log in to the JAL Portal?
To log in to the JAL Portal, use your Juniper Single Sign On (SSO) account username and password. If you do not already have a Juniper User account, create a new account at Juniper User Registration.
Your Juniper User account and your company's Account ID that is used to purchase Juniper licenses determine the Entitlements and Activations that you view in the JAL Portal. If a company Account ID purchases an Entitlement but the User account is unrelated to the Account ID, then the JAL Portal won’t display the Entitlement when you log in to the JAL Portal.
Juniper Agile Licensing, also known as JAL, provides a portal that is the one-stop shop license management system that Junipers and customers and partners use to manage their licenses. This portal offers an account-wide view of entitlements, activations, and activation history. Customers use the JAL portal to retrieve their license keys.
With the keys in hand, customers are then able to push the licenses out to their networks. For your specific licensing setup, see the other videos provided in this documentation.
