About This Network Configuration Example

date_range 04-Aug-23

This network configuration example provides an overview of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) label-switched path (LSP) link protection and node-link protection methods. These facility-based methods are used to reduce the amount of time needed to reroute LSP traffic. These protection methods are often compared to fast reroute—the other Junos OS LSP protection method.

For additional information about MPLS LSP link protection or node-link protection, see the following:

  • Junos MPLS Applications Configuration Guide

  • RFC 4090, Fast Reroute Extensions to RSVP-TE for LSP Tunnels
