JATCO transforms the office wireless network to satisfy all stakeholders

As demand for Wi-Fi connectivity from employees and devices increased, the implementation cost and operational burdens of expanding the wireless network had become significant.

“Stability and performance were deteriorating, and we were receiving more complaints and inquiries,” said Tomohisa Kobayashi, Manager of the JATCO Digital Solutions Department.

A modern wireless network solution would improve performance and provide more business value to user departments. JATCO wanted to leverage AI to automate network tasks, reduce implementation costs, and improve the user experience.

JATCO considered potential wireless network solutions from three perspectives: Business managers wanted to achieve a high return on investment by reducing network implementation and operations work. Employees needed high performance so they could work productively. IT staff wanted a network that was stable and easy to operate.

“JATCO determined that Juniper Mist was the wireless network solution that would bring about such a virtuous cycle and we decided to implement it after a thorough proof-of-concept test,” said Kobayashi.

JATCO continues to roll out Juniper AI-Native Networking to its offices globally and has future plans to deploy Juniper wireless in its factories.

  “It is a great achievement for the IT department to fully respond to Wi-Fi needs that we were previously unable to meet due to budget and equipment constraints,” said Kobayashi. “We have changed our work style to meet the business need.”

  “When calculating the total cost of updating aging access points, including in-house construction, we reduced the cost per unit by 50%,” said Kobayashi. As a result, the IT department can deploy five times more access points a year, refreshing its office networks faster to meet users’ needs.
• Streamline network operations
  “I like Juniper Mist because it is simple and is easy to understand and intuitive to use,” said Kobayashi. There’s no wireless LAN controller to update, and new features are delivered from the Juniper Mist Cloud without downtime.
