Product overview

The Marvis Client is a software agent that works with the Marvis Virtual Network Assistant and Mist  AI to deliver detailed Wi‑Fi network insights from the end‑user’s perspective. This gives your network experts deeper visibility into the network and how connected devices “perceive” the Wi‑Fi environment. You can install the Marvis Client on Android, Microsoft Windows, and MacOS client devices to enrich the data available in the Juniper Mist dashboard. Using previously unavailable insights, your team can make more informed decisions on how to fine‑tune your network’s Wi‑Fi performance.

Product description

One of the biggest challenges across Wi‑Fi installations is understanding how Wi‑Fi clients perceive the network. What if you could understand how each client connects to APs and networks, roams from AP to AP, measures the Wi‑Fi signal in specific locations, and more? What if you could see your Wi‑Fi network’s performance, both from the perspective of APs and connected clients? By focusing on the client's viewpoint, the Marvis Client fills a critical visibility gap in the Juniper Mist Cloud, offering comprehensive insights into how individual devices interact with the Wi‑Fi environment.

Available for Android, Windows, and MacOS devices, Marvis Client delivers rich network visibility into Wi‑Fi experiences from a user device’s perspective. You can understand how any connected device sees the Wi‑Fi environment and view its properties, such as device type, OS, radio hardware, and radio firmware versions.

Together, Marvis Virtual Network Assistant and Mist AI bring unparalleled insight and automated actions to troubleshooting and support operations, enabling IT teams to achieve quicker mean time to resolution or innocence (MTTR/MTTI). Your team gains a comprehensive network view with user, client, and device insights, eliminating the need to pull up multiple dashboards or memorize CLI commands. Now, with the Marvis Client, Juniper Mist Cloud and Mist AI can truly extend the capabilities of the IT team by analyzing data and logs from across the network to determine root causes and provide real‑time answers with high efficacy.

Marvis Virtual Network Assistant

Marvis Virtual Network Assistant brings unparalleled insight and automated actions to troubleshooting and support operations so IT teams can get to quicker MTTR or MTTI. Marvis is an extension of the IT team—it combs through data and logs to determine root causes and provides answers in real time with high efficacy.

Microservices cloud

Cloud‑native, AI‑Native microservices deliver agility and scale to networking. They unlock performance insights and reduce operational expenses (OpEx) by analyzing data collected by the Marvis Client.

Core features

Understand device posture for connections on your network

  • Manufacturer, device type, and OS of the device, along with the radio hardware (adapter) and firmware (driver) versions, are delivered to the Juniper Mist Cloud.

Visualize and detect outliers

  • See client devices in the Juniper Mist dashboard that have out‑of‑spec configurations, including firmware and radio firmware, and other device parameters

Understand connection performance through device connectivity states and events

  • Marvis Client and Juniper Mist Cloud use client‑side data to show connection states and events to troubleshoot issues.

Gain insights to device‑AP connections through roaming behaviors

  • Roaming decisions and how a client decides to connect to an AP on a specific band is a client decision. Marvis Client provides visibility into how the client detects surrounding APs and how it connects to the AP.

Resolve coverage issues with client data

  • Juniper APs report the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) at which they detect clients. The Marvis Client provides the device‑side RSSI detecting the AP. This helps identify asymmetries in power levels between clients and APs.

See real-time device activity

  • Marvis Client collects device‑side logging for use in troubleshooting, version validation, and other tasks.

Monitor connection events (Zebra–Android devices)

  • Leverage Zebra Wireless Insights to get more information about connection states, including detailed visibility into connection events and their causes. You can view details about client connection and disconnection events.

Understand voice call performance over time (Zebra–Android devices)

  • View and analyze information about voice calls made using Zebra devices. Juniper Mist dashboard provides details about when the call began and ended, along with the call performance. A summary of voice events is also available, both during and after calls.
