Validate Your Juniper Account

This topic describes the steps to validate your Juniper registered user account.

Juniper Support Insights (JSI) prevents unauthorized access to customer-centric information by validating the user's identity through the Juniper Support Portal. Once validated, the user is granted access to the customer-centric information which the user is entitled to access. For more information, Validate Your Juniper Account Overview.

Before you begin, ensure the following requirements are met:

Prerequisites

  • Administrators must link their Juniper credentials to import the Juniper-maintained asset information to the organization. For more information, see Integrate Your Juniper Support Resources to Your Organization.

    Note:
    • You can view support insights for your Juniper inventory that is associated with Juniper accounts (primary account and secondary accounts) from the Installed Base page.

    • An organization can have multiple superusers and all superusers can integrate Juniper account IDs with the organization.

  • You (superuser) can invite users to access an organization and to view support insights for your Juniper inventory.

  • JSI validates user accounts to prevent unauthorized access to customer-centric information available on the Installed Base page.

As a user invited to the organization, you must fulfill the following conditions to gain access to the customer-centric information:

    • You must have a registered Juniper user account.

You can register your account on the Juniper Support Portal.

    • Your user account must have the required permission to access the information.

To have valid access privileges, your user account must be mapped to the Juniper account ID linked to the organization.

Validate Your Juniper Account

JSI masks data to prevent unauthorized access to customer-centric information. You must validate your user account each time you want to access the blurred customer-centric information associated with the device, such as installed address, contract information, warranty information, and so on.

To validate your user account:

  1. Navigate to Organization > Inventory > Installed Base.

    The Installed Base page appears.

You can view device-centric information for all Juniper devices, but the customer-centric information for the devices appears blurred.

A banner appears asking you to validate your user account to confirm that you are authorized to view the customer-centric information.

  2. Click Validate Juniper Account on the top-right corner of the page.

The Validate Juniper Account pop-up appears.

  3. Enter your Juniper registered account credentials (email address and password) that you created through Juniper Support Portal.
  4. Click Validate.
    JSI validates your user account.
On successful validation, the Installed Base page auto-refreshes.
Along with the device-centric information, you can now view customer-centric information that you are entitled to access.
    Note:

Your access to customer-centric information depends on the access privileges granted to your user account. For more information, see Users with Validated Juniper Account.

If JSI finds the credentials you entered to be invalid, you are prompted to either re-enter valid credentials or register your account with Juniper. For more information, see Validate Your Juniper Account as an Unregistered User.

Validate Your Juniper Account as an Unregistered User

You must have a Juniper registered user account to access customer-centric device information from the Installed Base page.

To validate your account as an unregistered user:

  1. Navigate to Organization > Inventory > Installed Base.

    The Installed Base page appears.

You can view device-centric information on the page, but the customer-centric information appears blurred.

A banner appears asking you to validate your user account to confirm that you are authorized to view the blurred customer-centric information.

  2. Click Validate Juniper Account on the top-right corner of the page.

The Validate Juniper Account pop-up appears.

  3. Enter your Juniper account credentials (email address and password).
  4. Click Validate.

If JSI finds the credentials you entered to be invalid, you are prompted to either re-enter valid credentials or register your account with Juniper.

  5. If you do not have a user account, click Register to register your account with Juniper.
You are redirected to the user registration page.
  6. Register your account.
After successful registration, log in to the organization, navigate to the Installed Base page and repeat steps 2 through 4.
    JSI validates your user account.
On successful validation, the Installed Base page auto-refreshes. Along with the device-centric information, you can now view customer-centric information that you are entitled to access.
    Note:

Your access to sensitive customer-centric information depends on the access privileges granted to your Juniper account. For more information, see Users with Validated Juniper Account.

Users with Validated Juniper Account

This section describes the various levels of access controls you might encounter after you successfully validate your Juniper account.

All users who are invited to the organization can view device-centric information for all devices without any validation.

Users who successfully validate their credentials, can view all, some or none of the customer-centric information depending on whether they are authorized to access the same accounts to which the customer-centric information belongs.

Note:

For assistance with access privileges, contact your service manager or Juniper customer support.

Table 1 lists different user scenarios and the device-centric and customer-centric information accessible in each scenario.
