Operational efficiency
Maximized efficiency with reliable network automation
To meet growing demand for cloud, web hosting, and infrastructure services, Servers Australia wanted to upgrade the performance and capacity of its data center networks. Along with network scalability and reliability, agility and operational efficiency were key objectives.
“We expanded our service portfolio, including offering enterprise storage and security services, which led to organic customer growth,” said Jaden Roberts, Network Operations Manager at Servers Australia. “We wanted to use automation to ease infrastructure operations for our lean team.”
“Apstra was a game changer, enabling a seamless, reliable network to support growing demand,” said Roberts.
Servers Australia chose Apstra intent-based software to automate the design, deployment, and operations of the network fabric in its Sydney data centers. Apstra provides a single source of truth, networkwide change controls, and powerful analytics to empower the infrastructure and operations teams to deliver optimal network performance and resolve issues efficiently with confidence.
“Previously, we had to create hundreds of lines of code to provision a private cloud service for a customer,” said Roberts. “With Apstra, service configuration went down from eight to 12 hours to 30 minutes.”
Intent-based networking speeds up deployment and simplifies operations
With Apstra, Servers Australia can scale rapidly and grow efficiently to meet demand for private cloud, dedicated servers, storage, backup, security, and other services. Juniper QFX5120 switches are used for the spine and leaf nodes of the EVPN/VXLAN network fabric.
A Juniper validated design accelerated deployment of the new data center fabrics. Beyond Day 0, Apstra ensures consistency across its data centers and ensures reliable operations.
Achieving seamless growth with scalable, reliable networks
With Juniper’s data center network solution, Servers Australia has a fast, reliable way to deploy high-performing networks to support its customers’ cloud and infrastructure services. Apstra’s intent-based operations ensures operational excellence, empowering the company to deliver personalized service with the efficiency and local support their clients expect.
Agility to deliver customer services faster
“With Apstra, we can hand over services to our customers faster,” said Roberts. “Instead of taking days or weeks, it can be same day or next day, depending on which service they ordered.”
Scale performance predictably and reliably
“Network performance and capacity have increased massively,” said Roberts. “Before the upgrade, servers and storage were connected at 2x10G, and now it’s 2x25G. The backbone has increased from 10G to multiple hundred gig.”
Automate operations and focus on strategic work
With Apstra’s focus on business outcomes, the infrastructure team can automate policy implementation reliably, speeding up customer service configuration while eliminating time-consuming, error-prone manual commands.
