Release Information

Statement introduced in Junos OS Release 10.0 for EX Series switches.

Description

Enable Layer 2 protocol tunneling (L2PT) on the VLAN.

The remaining statements are explained separately.

Default

L2PT is not enabled.

Options

all—Enable all supported Layer 2 protocols.

protocol-name—Name of the Layer 2 protocol. Values are:

  • 802.1x—IEEE 802.1X authentication
  • 802.3ah—IEEE 802.3ah Operation, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) link fault management (LFM)

    Note: If you enable L2PT for untagged OAM LFM packets, do not configure LFM on the corresponding access interface.

  • cdp—Cisco Discovery Protocol
  • e-lmi—Ethernet local management interface
  • gvrp—GARP VLAN Registration Protocol
  • lacp—Link Aggregation Control Protocol

    Note: If you enable L2PT for untagged LACP packets, do not configure LACP on the corresponding access interface.

  • lldp—Link Layer Discovery Protocol
  • mmrp—Multiple MAC Registration Protocol
  • mvrp—Multiple VLAN Registration Protocol
  • stp—Spanning Tree Protocol, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, and Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol
  • udld—Unidirectional Link Detection (UDLD)
  • vstp—VLAN Spanning Tree Protocol
  • vtp—VLAN Trunking Protocol
