XRE200 Management Cable Specifications and Pinouts

date_range 11-Nov-20

USB Port Specifications for an XRE200 External Routing Engine

The following Juniper Networks USB flash drives have been tested and are officially supported for the XRE200 External Routing Engine:

  • RE-USB-1G-S

  • RE-USB-2G-S

  • RE-USB-4G-S

Caution

Any USB memory product not listed as supported for XRE200 External Routing Engines has not been tested by Juniper Networks. The use of any unsupported USB memory product could expose your external Routing Engine to unpredictable behavior. Juniper Networks Technical Assistance Center (JTAC) can provide only limited support for issues related to unsupported hardware. We strongly recommend that you use only supported USB flash drives.

All USB flash drives used on XRE200 External Routing Engines must have the following features:

  • USB 2.0 or later

  • Formatted with a FAT or MS-DOS file system

Console Port Connector Pinout Information

The console port on a Juniper Networks device is an RS-232 serial interface that uses an RJ-45 connector to connect to a console management device. The default baud rate for the console port is 9600 baud.

Table 1 provides the pinout information for the RJ-45 console connector.

Note

If your laptop or PC does not have a DB-9 plug connector pin and you want to connect your laptop or PC directly to a device, use a combination of the RJ-45 to DB-9 socket adapter and a USB to DB-9 plug adapter. You must provide the USB to DB-9 plug adapter.

Virtual Chassis Port Connector Pinout Information for RJ-45 Connections on an XRE200 External Routing Engine

A Virtual Chassis port (VCP) on an XRE200 External Routing Engine uses an RJ-45 connector to connect to EX8200 member switches or to another external Routing Engine. The VCPs on an XRE200 External Routing Engine include built-in port 0 (labeled 0) and ports 0 through 3 on each Virtual Chassis Control Interface (VCCI) module.

The port uses an autosensing RJ-45 connector to support a 10/100/1000BASE-T connection.

Table 3 provides the pinout information for the RJ-45 connector.
