pim-evpn-gateway
Syntax
pim-evpn-gateway { external-irb irb-interface-name; peg-df-election { delay-time seconds; mod; preference { use-least; value value; } } }
Description
Configure a border leaf device to act as a PIM EVPN gateway (PEG) for optimized intersubnet multicast (OISM).
The PEG device connects an EVPN fabric to an external PIM domain to route multicast traffic:
-
From external sources to receivers in the EVPN fabric.
-
From sources in the EVPN fabric to external receivers.
You set this option in the Layer 3 virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) routing instances on the EVPN fabric devices.
Options
external-irb
irb-interface-name |
Specify an IRB interface the device uses in PEG mode to route multicast traffic to and from the external PIM domain. Include this option on OISM border leaf devices that use the M-VLAN IRB method for external multicast. You don't configure this option for the classic L3 interface method or the non-EVPN IRB method for external multicast. See Supported Methods for Multicast Data Transfer to or from an External PIM Domain for a list of the methods you can use with OISM on a PEG device to connect the EVPN fabric to external multicast sources and receivers. |
