This document presents a Juniper Validated Design (JVD) for developing and deploying diverse services that are guaranteed Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) 3.0 compliant using Juniper ACX Series Routers and MX Series Routers. The reference architecture is based on the Metro Ethernet Business Services (EBS) JVD and includes over twenty use cases delivered through EVPN, VPLS, L2VPN, L2Circuit, and L3VPN services.

The dense services portfolio covering E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree, and Access E-Line service types are validated against MEF standards using the identical test infrastructure for MEF 3.0 certification. This ensures that service providers can confidentially deploy Juniper Networks end-to-end solutions, maximizing service performance, customer expectations, interoperability, and improving time to market.

The validation incorporates all Metro Ethernet Business Services JVD characteristics, including interdomain color-aware traffic steering across metro fabrics and multi-ring architectures. This allows selective mapping of each VPN service type to colored paths throughout the network.

The Metro as a Service (MaaS) JVD leverages MEF 3.0-certified Juniper routers, including the MX304, ACX7100, ACX7509, ACX7024, ACX5448, and ACX710. The JVD documentation references a comprehensive list of MEF technical specifications relevant to the design, including those related to subscriber Ethernet services, service attributes, Class of Service (CoS), service activation, and layer 2 control protocols.
