Onboard a Router
To monitor a router from Juniper Mist Routing Assurance application, you must ensure that the router is onboarded to Juniper Mist Routing Assurance. You onboard a router by using the Adopt Router option, which provides the configuration to be committed from router CLI to enable it to establish connectivity with Juniper Mist Routing Assurance.
To view the list of MX Series routers that Juniper Mist Routing Assurance supports, see Supported Hardware Platforms.
For the list of supported Junos OS software versions, see Junos Software Versions-Suggested Releases to Consider and Evaluate.
You can onboard a router that is already a part of the network, and start monitoring it from Juniper Mist Routing Assurance. When a router is onboarded, you can view metrics about the router's health and performance.
See Prerequisites to check whether your router or routers meet the requirements before onboarding them.
To onboard a router:
The status of a router that is onboarded to Juniper Mist Routing Assurance, but is not assigned to a site appears as Unassigned in the Organization > Inventory > Routers tab.
After the router is assigned to a site and connects to Juniper Mist Routing Assurance, the status of the router changes to Connected, indicating that the router can be monitored from Juniper Mist Routing Assurance.
The status of a router changes to Disconnected if your network stops allowing the outbound SSH connection or if this configuration on the router is removed.
After a router is onboarded to Juniper Mist Routing Assurance, you can view router insights such as router events, BGP summary and so on, from Router Insights page. For more information on router insights, see About the Router Insights Page.
