Create a Test Template

date_range 23-Aug-24

Test templates enable you to create customized Test templates and reuse these templates while creating Tests. Test templates eliminate the need to manually configure Task parameters and metrics evaluation criteria each time you create a Test. Instead, you can select an existing Test template and run a Test.

To create a Test template:

  1. Do one of the following:

    1. Navigate to the Measurement Designers (Observability > Active Assurance > Measurement Designers) page, or,

    2. Navigate to the Test Templates (Inventory > Active Assurance > Test Templates) page and click the Add (+) icon.

You are redirected to the Measurement Designer page.

  2. Specify a name for the Test template.

Click the Sequence Name or click the Edit (pencil) icon to enter a name for the Test template in the Sequence Name text box.

Sequence Name is the placeholder name for the Test template.

  3. Add Steps and Tasks. For information on adding steps and tasks for a Test, see Create a Test.

  4. Click the Save as Template button on the top-right corner of the page.

A Save as Test Template page appears asking to confirm the save operation. You can also edit the name, description, and tags from this page.

    Note:

When you edit the name, specify a unique Test template name. The template does not get saved if you use a template name twice.

  5. Click Save.

A message is displayed confirming that the Test template is saved successfully, and the Test template you have created is listed on the Test Templates (Inventory > Active Assurance > Test Templates) page.
