    • View the percentage of healthy and unhealthy devices based on interface health grouped by OS versions in a single stacked bar chart.

    • View the percentage of healthy and unhealthy devices based on interface health grouped by device models in a single stacked bar chart.

  • On the Timeline tab:

    • View the percentage of healthy devices (based on interface health) for a predefined or a custom period on a graph. The graph is updated based on the KPIs that you select.

  • On the Affected Items tab:

    • View the details of unhealthy devices (based on interface health) in the order of severity of the alerts generated on those devices.

    • Click any device hostname to view alerts for that device on the Alerts for Device-Hostname page.

  • The Distribution tab consists of the OS tab, Device Model tab, and Sites tab.

    • On the OS tab, view the details of unhealthy devices (based on interface health) grouped by device OS version.

    • On the Device Model tab, view the details of unhealthy devices (based on interface health) grouped by device model.

    • On the Sites tab, view the details of unhealthy devices (based on interface health) grouped by sites.

  • Click Clear Selection to clear all selected KPIs.

  • View the total number of devices in the network on the top-right corner of the page.

  • View the time stamp of the last update or refresh (in DD/MM/YYYY hh:mm:ss AM/PM format) in the top-right corner of the tab. For Example: 07/12/2024 12:42:43 PM

  • Update the page by clicking the refresh icon.

  • On the Affected Items and Distribution tab, you can also:

    • Sort, resize, or re-arrange columns in a table (grid).

    • Show or hide columns in the table or reset page preferences, using the vertical ellipsis menu.

    • Search by using keywords—Click the search icon (magnifying glass), enter the search term in the text box, and press Enter. The search results are displayed on the same page.

    • Filter the data displayed in the table—Click the filter icon (funnel) and select whether you want to show or hide advanced filters. You can then add or remove filter criteria, save criteria as a filter, apply or clear filters, and so on. The filtered results are displayed on the same page.

Sections on the Page

The following topics describe the sections on the Interfaces Health page.

Gauge Chart

The gauge chart displays the overall health of network devices, as a percentage. Hover over the chart to view the percentage of healthy devices based on interface health. The percentage of healthy devices based on interfaces is also displayed below the chart. The percentage is 0 even if one interface in the network is unhealthy or has an alert associated to it.

List of KPIs

KPIs related to Link Failure, RX Errors, TX Errors, and Link Flaps that affect interface health are listed next to the gauge chart. The overall health of a KPI is displayed next to the KPI itself. Click any KPI to view more factors that affect the overall health.

For example, click TX Errors to view other KPIs (such as Input and CRC) that contribute to the overall percentage that is displayed. In some instances, you can also view a second level of KPIs that affect the overall percentage. For example, click CRC to view Output CRC, which is another related KPI that affects the overall health.

A total of four KPIs are listed by default next to the gauge chart. Click Select Others at the end of the list to view other KPIs that affect overall health. To clear all selected KPIs, click Clear Selection.

Overview Tab

The Overview tab consists of the Devices, OS Versions, and Models widget.

The Devices widget displays the overall percentage of healthy and unhealthy devices (based on interface health) in a donut chart. However, when you select a KPI from the list next to the gauge chart, the Devices widget displays the overall health of the device in relation to that KPI. The total number of devices in the network is displayed in the middle of the chart. Healthy devices are highlighted in green in the donut chart, and unhealthy devices are highlighted in red. Hover over the green portion of the donut chart to view the percentage and the total number of healthy devices. Hover over the red portion of the donut chart to view the percentage and the total number of unhealthy devices.

The OS Versions widget displays the percentage of healthy and unhealthy devices (based on interface health) grouped by OS versions in a stacked bar chart. Hover over the bar chart to view this percentage. The portion of the bar chart highlighted in green represents healthy devices. The portion of the bar chart highlighted in red represents unhealthy devices. A maximum of ten OS versions are displayed in the widget in the descending order of the unhealthy device percentage.

The Models widget displays the percentage of healthy and unhealthy devices (based on interface health) grouped by device models in a stacked bar chart. Hover over the bar chart to view this percentage. The portion of the bar chart highlighted in green represents healthy devices. The portion of the bar chart highlighted in red represents unhealthy devices. A maximum of ten device models are displayed in the widget in the descending order of the unhealthy device percentage.

Timeline Tab

The Timeline tab displays the percentage of healthy devices (based on interface health) for a predefined (a week, a day, 3 hours, 1 hour, 30 minutes) or a custom period on a graph. By default, performance for the past 30 minutes is displayed. To change this period, click the Week, Day, 3 hrs, 1 hr, 30 mins, or Custom buttons provided above the graph.

You can also use the range picker provided above the graph to view information for a predefined or custom period. You can click the arrows provided on either side of the range picker to move between ranges. For example, click the Week button to view interface health information for a week. Click the arrow on the left of the range picker to view information for the previous week. Click the arrow on the right of range picker to view information for the following week.

Data lines for the overall interface health and interface health in relation to individual KPIs (Link Failure, RX Errors, TX Errors, Link Flaps, and so on) are displayed on the graph by default. Hover over any point on the line graph to view the percentage health for that particular point. When you select a KPI from the list next to the gauge chart, the graph is updated to only show the overall interface health in relation to that KPI. The KPIs are also provided below the graph with colors automatically assigned to each of the KPIs. Click any KPI to view a data line in the assigned color on the graph. Click Clear Selection to clear all selected KPIs.

Affected Items Tab

The Affected Items tab consists of the Devices tab.

The Devices tab displays details of unhealthy devices (based on interface health) in the order of severity of the alerts generated on those devices. The various alerts are:

  • Action Needed—The interfaces have issues that you must address (may not be immediately).

  • Urgent Action Needed—The interfaces have issues that must be addressed immediately.

Click any device hostname to view alerts for that device on the Alerts for Device-Hostname page.

Distribution Tab

The Distribution tab consists of the OS, Device Model, and Sites tabs.

The OS tab displays the details of unhealthy devices (based on interface health) grouped by the device OS version. The details on this tab are updated based on the KPIs that you select. You can view the total number of affected devices, total number devices that use the OS version, and the percentage impact for each OS version on the tab. Click the link in the Devices Affected column to view details of all affected devices that use that OS version, on the Devices Affected for OS-Name page. Click the link in the Total Network column to view details of all devices that use that OS version, on the Total Devices for OS-Name page.

The Device Model tab displays the details of unhealthy devices (based on interface health) grouped by device (hardware) model. The details on this tab are updated based on the KPIs that you select. You can view the total number of affected devices, total number of devices that belong to the hardware model category, and the percentage impact for each hardware model category on the tab. Click the link in the Devices Affected column to view details of all affected devices that belong to that hardware model category, on the Devices Affected for Model-Name page. Click the link in the Total Network column to view all devices that belong to that hardware model category, on Total Devices for Model-Name page.

The Sites tab displays the details of unhealthy devices (based on interface health) grouped by sites. A site is the location of a device in an organization. The details on this tab are updated based on the KPIs that you select. You can view the total number of affected devices, total number devices in the site, and the percentage impact for each site on the tab. Click the link in the Devices Affected column to view details of all affected devices that belong to that site, on the Devices Affected for Site-Name page. Click the link in the Total Network column to view details of all devices that belong to that site, on the Total Devices for Site-Name page.
