adaptive-sample-rate

Syntax

Hierarchy Level

Description

Configure and back up the adaptive sampling rate in sFlow monitoring technology configurations.

Routers and switches use adaptive sampling to ensure both sampling accuracy and efficiency. Adaptive sampling is a process of monitoring the overall incoming traffic rate on the network device and providing intelligent feedback to interfaces to dynamically adapt the sampling rates on interfaces on the basis of traffic conditions.

Default

Adaptive sampling is enabled by default.

You can use this adaptive-sample-rate configuration statement to change the default adaptive sampling from 300 pps to any other value.

Options

rate

Configure the maximum number of samples that should be generated.

  • Range: 300 through 9500 pps

Note:

You can configure the adaptive sampling rate on QFX5230-64CD, QFX5240-64OD, and QFX5240-64QD devices to a maximum number of 30000 pps.

fallback

Enable adaptive sampling fallback (also called reverse adaptive sampling).

sample-limit-threshold

Explicitly specify the threshold value in packets per second (pps) for each line card. You must configure the fallback statement to be able to configure the sample-limit-threshold statement.

  • Range: 0 through 4750 pps.
