Description

Configure the routing device’s likelihood to be elected as the designated router. DR priority is specific to PIM sparse mode; as per RFC 3973, PIM DR priority cannot be configured explicitly in PIM Dense Mode (PIM-DM) in IGMPv2 – PIM-DM only support DRs with IGMPv1.

Options

number—Routing device’s priority for becoming the designated router. A higher value corresponds to a higher priority.

  • Range: 0 through 4294967295

  • Default: 1 (Each routing device has an equal probability of becoming the DR.)
