Description
Enable periodic reoptimization of an LSP that is already set up. If topology changes occur, an existing path might become suboptimal, and a subsequent recomputation might be able to determine a better path.
This feature is useful only on LSPs for which constrained-path computation is
enabled; that is, for which the no-cspf
statement is not
configured. Also, you only need to configure this statement on routers acting as
the ingress for the affected LSPs (you do not need to configure this statement
on transit or egress routers).
To avoid extensive resource consumption that might result because of frequent path recomputations, or to avoid destabilizing the network as a result of constantly changing LSPs, we recommend that you either leave the timer value sufficiently large or disable the timer value.
Default
The optimize timer is disabled.
Options
seconds
—Length
