Description

(Required) Specify the destination IPv4 or IPv6 address or URL used for the probes.

Options

address

(Junos OS Evolved) For all RPM probe types other than the HTTP probes, use the specified IPv4 or IPv6 address for the target host. (Prior to Junos OS Evolved Release 23.1R1, only IPv4 addresses are supported for RPM probes.) If you also configure the link-local option, you must configure an IPv6 address in the link-local prefix fe80::/8 range.

address IPv4-address

(Junos OS) For all RPM probe types other than the HTTP probes, use the specified IPv4 address for the target host.

Note:

Starting with Junos OS Release 14.2R2, the RPM client router (the router or switch that originates the RPM probes) can send probe packets to the RPM probe server (the device that receives the RPM probes) that contains an IPv6 address.

inet6-address IPv6-address

(Junos OS) For all RPM probe types other than the HTTP probes, use the specified IPv6 address for the target host.

inet6-url IPv6-URL

(Junos OS) For HTTP probe types, use the specified fully formed URL that includes http:// in the URL address. You can specify an IPv6 address of a host in the URL to denote the destination or server to which the RPM probes must be sent.

local-link IPv6-link-local-interface-name (Junos OS Evolved) For test sessions with IPv6 target addresses, configure the link-local logical interface name for the egress interface. If you configure this option, you cannot configure the source-address statement for the test.
url URL

For HTTP probe types, use the specified fully formed URL that includes http:// in the URL address. You can specify an IPv4 address of a host in the URL to denote the destination or server to which the RPM probes must be sent. For Junos OS Evolved, you can also use this option to specify an IPv6 address of a host in the URL; for Junos OS, you use the inet6-url option instead to specify the same.
