request system software delete-backup
Syntax
request system software delete-backup
Description
(Junos OS only) Use this command to delete the backup image previously created. Junos OS keeps a backup image of the software that was previously installed so that you can downgrade to that version of the software if necessary. If you delete this image, you cannot downgrade to the particular version of the software. Note that this command does not perform any function on SRX Series Firewalls with the dual-root partitioning scheme (units that are shipped with Junos OS 10.0 version or later).
In devices running FreeBSD Release 12 or later, you cannot issue this command. To learn if
your device is running FreeBSD Release 12 or later, issue the show version
command and look for the fbsd_builder_stable
string in the module names. If
the string includes the number 12 or later, your device is running FreeBSD Release 12 or
later.
