static-multihoming-peer
Syntax
static-multihoming-peer (static-multihoming-peer-IP-address | [ static-multihoming-peer-IP-address ... ]);
Description
Statically identify a device's multihoming peer leaf devices in an Ethernet VPN (EVPN) network running enhanced optimized intersubnet multicast (OISM).
OISM leaf devices are multihoming peers when they share an Ethernet segment (ES) for a multihomed customer edge (CE) device or attached host. When enhanced OISM leaf devices have static information about their multihoming peers, the multihoming peer leaf devices can avoid multicast traffic loss when their peer devices go up and down.
We support this statement with OISM in enhanced OISM mode only.
In Junos OS Release 24.2R1, this statement was named
multihoming-peer-gateways
to support multiple multihoming feature
use cases.
Starting in Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved Release 24.4R1, instead we provide this
static-multihoming-peer
statement for OISM multihoming peer leaf
devices. You won't see the multihoming-peer-gateways
statement in
the Junos OS CLI anymore.
