This option automatically recovers the Junos volume when necessary.

When you issue the request system snapshot command, the configuration on the device is stored in the OAM volume along with the creation of the recovery snapshot.

This option allows you to create or update a recovery snapshot along with storing the configuration on the device.

When you configure this option, the following scenarios occur:

• If a recovery snapshot does not exist for the current Junos image, issuing the request system snapshot command create a recovery snapshot along with storing the configuration on the device.

• If a recovery snapshot exists for the current image and additional packages are added or removed, a new recovery snapshot is created. The configuration changes are stored along with the new snapshot on the device.

• If a recovery snapshot exists for the current image and no changes are made to the current image, only the configuration changes are stored to the existing recovery snapshot. No new recovery snapshot is created.

This option allows you to specify a preferred configuration when booting from the OAM volume.

When you configure this option, the system does not recover the Junos volume automatically.

Update the recovery snapshot when the Junos release changes.

This option enables the system to automatically create a recovery snapshot when you load a different version of the Junos image on the device. The system generates a recovery snapshot with the new Junos image version and stores the configuration on the device.
